From July 27 to 30, 2026, singer-songwriters Aysanabee, LOV, and Siibii participated in the SOCAN Foundation Nashville Residency with Apple Music. The artists were based at SOCAN House in East Nashville, allowing them to be completely immersed in one of the world’s major music centres.
Sessions were hosted at the fully loaded Apple Music Nashville writers’ room, where the three artists had the opportunity to work in the studio, collaborate with Nashville-based writers and producers, and connect with members of the local music industry and Apple Music team members from Nashville, Los Angeles, and Toronto. The residency was designed to create space for the artists to explore the city’s creative community, pairing them with a different local writer and producer each day to collaborate on new material with fresh perspectives.
For Aysanabee, the connections have already formed lasting creative relationships.
“Being able to go to Nashville through the SOCAN Foundation Nashville Residency with Apple Music put me in rooms with producers and writers who I’ve since become friends with and hope to work with again in the future. Those connections are something I’ll carry with me long after the residency and into my career.”
The residency reflects Apple Music Canada’s commitment to supporting Canadian music creators and creating opportunities for connection and collaboration. Through its partnership with SOCAN Foundation, Apple Music helped provide artists with the space, resources and connections to create and collaborate within Nashville’s vibrant songwriting community.
Aysanabee, LOV and Siibii left Nashville with new songs, new creative connections and opportunities, and new friendships. The initiative shows how intentional investment in Indigenous creators, paired with access to world-class infrastructure and collaborators, can yield extraordinary creative and cultural outcomes.
