In this episode, former SOCAN A&R Representative Racquel Villagante talks with Orri Sachar, the Head of Music for Monstercat, an independent electronic music record label based in Vancouver. The company is best known for signing Marshmello’s single, “Alone,” the music video for which has amassed more than a billion (with a “b”) views combined across YouTube alone. Monstercat was named one of the five best independent dance labels of 2017 by Billboard, and is now also very involved with music for gaming and virtual reality.
