Montréal-born, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Sara Diamond turns romantic uncertainty into something quietly magnetic on “Something.” The sleek R&B-pop track finds her caught between genuine connection and the fear that loneliness is keeping a complicated relationship alive. Co-written with producer Akeel Henry, the song pairs Diamond’s intimate, soulful delivery with understated production that mirrors the push-and-pull of the relationship she’s questioning.

Diamond has been writing and performing since childhood, but her songwriting has recently travelled well beyond her own catalogue: she co-wrote Coco Jones’ GRAMMY-nominated R&B hit “Here We Go (Uh Oh).” On “Something,” though, the spotlight returns to her own voice, capturing that uneasy space between wanting somebody and wondering exactly why you do.
