For the 20th edition of its annual awards  ceremony, the SPACQ Foundation (Société professionnelle des auteurs et des compositeurs du Québec) unveiled the winners on Sept. 29, 2025, at Montréal’s Club St. James. A total of 15 grants of $10,000 each were awarded, to recognize the outstanding work of songwriters, composers, and performers on Québec’s cultural scene. Stéphane Archambault hosted the event for the first time.

SOCAN, represented by Executive Director of Québec Affairs Alexandre Alonso, presented the Stéphane Venne Award, and its $10,000 grant, to Geneviève Lapointe, a non-performing songwriter, in recognition of her body of work as a lyricist. She’s the author of some of Les BB’s most iconic songs, including “T’es dans la lune,” “Fais attention,” and “Tu ne sauras jamais,” among others.
