Music Publishers Canada (MPC) is proud to announce the seven talented producer-songwriters selected for its 2025 Women in the Studio National Accelerator, which supports the professional growth of music producers from across Canada.
Now in its seventh year, the training program provides music producers with a series of curated sessions and workshops that focus on skills development, as well as networking opportunities with music industry leaders that might otherwise have been inaccessible to them. The accelerator targets mid-career producers who are already producing for others, and equips them with skills and connections vital for them to take the next step in their careers.
There are 40 past graduates of the program, and MPC is proud to invest in this community, and to witness the collaborations and professional relationships that grow out of the Accelerator each year.

“Only six percent of the songs you hear are produced by women,” said Margaret McGuffin, CEO of Music Publishers Canada. “The Accelerator is a cornerstone of what we do at Music Publishers Canada, to make sure we’re doing the work that will lead to seeing meaningful change in this industry. We look forward to guiding the participants as they learn and grow over the coming months.”
Music Publishers Canada remains committed to driving that change, and fostering greater equity within the music industry. This year’s Accelerator will run online, from June through October 2025, and will include an in-person residency week in Toronto in July. Over the course of the program, participants will engage in a range of workshops, covering topics including technical and songwriting skills, branding, and financial literacy, and will be provided with opportunities for creative collaborations and networking with key music and creative industry professionals. As part of their experience, each participant has also committed to exploring volunteer opportunities within their own communities.
The Accelerator is made possible with generous support from the RBC Foundation, FACTOR/Government of Canada, and Ontario Creates. MPC also extends its gratitude to sponsors Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP and Compass Rose Group.
