SOCAN is pleased and proud to announce that Houtan Hodania has been promoted to the role of Senior Creative Executive. This promotion not only recognizes his significant contributions to the organization and the industry, but also reinforces SOCAN’s focus on supporting and empowering our members across Canada, and around the world.

In his new role, Hodania continues to be a key leader within the SOCAN Creative team. He’ll continue to work with our top songwriters, composers, and  music publishers, including internationally recognized talent. He’ll also help develop strategy and lead efforts to boost membership in emerging global markets.

Hodania joined SOCAN in 2019, starting in our Vancouver office, then moving to Toronto in 2022. Through deep music ecosystem relationships, he’s successfully worked with globally recognized members over the years, strengthening our international presence. He’s also been instrumental in leading high-impact creative initiatives, particularly our songwriting camps. In August of 2025, Hodania collaborated with IPRS, India’s performing rights organization, to foster Indo-Canadian collaboration through a seven-day songwriter camp in Mumbai, bringing together an inspiring mix of talent to create new music.

This promotion recognizes Hodania’s contributions to SOCAN, and the trust he’s built across the organization and the industry. A passion for music, and commitment to our members, fuels his continuing efforts to connect creators with the support and empowerment they need in order to grow their careers.
