We spoke with several winners in the press room at the Premier Gala, including Viviane Audet, whose album Le piano et le torrent has enjoyed unexpected success since its release. She shared her immediate reactions, and told us the latest chapter of her ongoing story with Donald Trump, to whom she mailed a copy of her album in February of 2025.

Klô Pelgag
Klô Pelgag stood out by winning two Félix awards at the Premier Gala de l’ADISQ: Album of the Year – Alternative for Abracadabra, and Music Video of the Year for “Le goût des mangues,” directed by Laurence “Baz” Morais. She told us about the painful circumstances in which this otherwise radiant album was created, and explained how she added concrete imagery to a song already rich in visual metaphors, for the purposes of its music video.

Shah Frank
Shah Frank won the Félix for Album of the Year – R&B/Soul at the Premier Gala de l’ADISQ for her album Aura. When she spotted the SOCAN team in the press room, she immediately shared her gratitude for the opportunity to take part in the tribute to Muzion’s “La vi ti-nèg,” the classic which received the Cultural Impact Award at the 2025 SOCAN Gala in May of 2025. She then spoke about her Francophone shift on Aura, which was created in collaboration with Muzion’s Imposs, an artist who also became her mentor.

Pierre Lapointe
When accepting his Félix for Album of the Year – Adult Contemporary, Pierre Lapointe revealed that the songs he wrote for Dix chansons démodées pour ceux qui ont le cœur abîmé were originally intended for other performers. He clearly had no regrets about keeping them for himself, since the album has brought him unprecedented success in both Québec and in France, where he’s making prime-time TV appearances and selling more concert tickets than ever. He tells us more in this video.
