Women in Music Canada, for the first time, hosted the three-day WIM Global Summit, at the Allied Music Centre and TD Music Hall in downtown Toronto, from March 3-5, 2026.  The summit boasted more than 70 speakers from 11 countries across the globe, and more than 680 attendees (both in person and online). They converged for workshops, keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, all focused on the various ways the music industry impacts women and gender-diverse individuals. For a view of events presented at the summit, visit the Women in Music Canada website.

The grand finale of the summit was the fourth annual Women in Music Canada Honours, for 2025, which took place at Toronto’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre, on  March 5, 2026. The WIM honours program is designed to celebrate and support Canadian women and gender-diverse innovators and creators who’ve had outstanding success in their field each year.  SOCAN members were honoured, as Elisapie earned the Artist of the Year award, while Simone Denny received a Career Achievement Honour. Hosted by CBC’s Saroja Coelho, the evening’s live performances included Billianne, Annabel Oreste, DJ Me Time, DJ MelBoogie, and Simar. For a full list of winners, click here.

Before the summit, Women in Music Canada held a global Studio Sync Camp at Kilometre House, in downtown Toronto, on Feb. 28 and March 1, 2026. The camp gathered 13 talented women and gender-diverse songwriters, producers, screen composers, and music supervisors, to write and produce music for film and television, in a collaborative camp supported by SOCAN and the National Arts Centre. The participants then took the stage at the Women in Music Global Summit on March 2, 2026,  to showcase their work created during the camp, and provide insights on writing for sync. The participants were: Heather Gardner, Kaya Pino, Lou Lanser, Jayde, Mica Hourbeigt, Brenley MacEachern, Jinting Zhao, Sara Sue Vallee, Flara K, Good Grief (duo), Charmie, NothhingSpecial, and Housewife.
