SOCAN is proud to once again partner with the Association des professionnels de l’édition musicale (APEM) to highlight the essential role of Québec music in screen productions.
Screen composers are invited to submit for the next edition of the Syncs of the Year. Now in its third edition, this competition aims to celebrate projects in which local music has enriched and elevated Québec screen productions. You can watch the video interviews with the winners of the 2025 edition here.
A jury will select five standout synchronizations, which will be unveiled in February of 2026, during the “Quand la musique rencontre l’image” event. This must-attend APEM event will also coincide with the launch of the Public Choice Award, where additional grants will be awarded to the winners.
Each selected sync will receive two separate grants: one for the screen production team, and the other for the music rights holders.
The deadline to submit an application is Oct. 5, 2025
Eligible productions include films, series, documentaries, trailers, title sequences, advertisements, and videogames (first aired or released between Sept. 1, 2024, and Aug. 31, 2025)
Submissions may be made by professionals from either the screen or music sectors. The submission must be accompanied by a file or a link to the selected excerpt.
