SOCAN is strengthening support for music creators and publishers in Québec. This work builds on its Québec strategy launched in 2023. The goal is to better understand and align services for the music community.
SOCAN recently expanded its efforts with the appointment of Étienne Cyr as Québec Relations & Operations Manager. Based in Montréal, Cyr helps teams respond more quickly to the operational needs of Québec members.
Cyr focuses on identifying member priorities and works with stakeholders across SOCAN to improve processes and resolve the issues that matter most. He also brings forward data-informed recommendations to support member service and regional priorities.
Cyr’s work supports SOCAN’s renewed commitment to Québec and Francophone Affairs, led by Vice President Alexandre Alonso. It reflects the nuances of the French-language market and the needs of those building careers within it.
Cyr joined SOCAN in 2022 as Account Executive and later served as Team Lead in the Membership Department. He introduced more structured reporting to capture member insights and connect them to day-to-day operations.
Today, his role helps SOCAN anticipate needs and enhances how it supports Québec creators and publishers.
