As Beyoncé becomes the first Black woman to top the Billboard Country Songs chart with “Texas Hold ‘Em,” three SOCAN member songwriters and three SOCAN member music publishers will be enjoying some of that limelight… and their royalties!
“Texas Hold ‘Em” is co-written by SOCAN members Lowell (Elizabeth Boland), bülow (Megan Buelow), and Nathan Ferraro (who also co-produced the song), and co-published by SOCAN members Hyvecity Music, Heart & Art Music (a division of Let Me Be Frank Inc.), and Sony ATV Music Publishing Canada. The other songwriters are Beyoncé herself, Raphael Saadiq (both ASCAP), and Brian Bates (N/A).
