SOCAN presented Mike with a No. 1 Song Award for co-writing “Love You For A Long Time” – recorded by Maggie Rogers – which reached the top of the Billboard U.S. Adult Alternative Airplay Chart in February of 2020.
Sonier co-wrote the song with Rogers and fellow SOCAN member Martin “Doc” McKinney, and it’s published by Sony/ATV Music Publishing Canada.
SOCAN Creative Executive Racquel Villagante presented the award to Sonier during the SOCAN Song House at BreakOut West in Kelowna, BC, on Oct. 11, 2023, where he was serving as the facilitator and mentor for 12 participants.
