Welcome to part one of the interviews we conducted backstage at the 2025 edition of the ADISQ Gala, held Nov. 9, 2025, at Place des Arts in Montréal. (Interviews in French only, for now; English subtitled versions coming soon.)
Lou-Adriane Cassidy
On Nov. 5, 2025, at the Premier Gala, Klô Pelgag highlighted the strong representation of women among the finalists. A few days later, a queen was indeed crowned: Lou-Adriane Cassidy triumphed at the main gala on Nov. 9, 2025, winning all four awards for which she was nominated – Songwriter (with Alexandre Martel), Female Artist, Song (“Dis-moi, dis-moi, dis-moi”), and Show of the Year. These awards add to the eight she’d already received earlier in the week, for an impressive total of 12 trophies! We caught up with her in the backstage media room, where she was all smiles, and still moved by such overwhelming recognition.
Aliocha Schneider
Aliocha Schneider won the Artist of the Year – International Impact Award at the Nov. 9 Gala, after an exceptional year in France that saw him earn three nominations at the Victoires de la musique last February. He was very happy as we chatted about his career in France when he dropped by the media room after accepting his award.
Les Cowboys Fringants
The legendary Cowboys Fringants won in the Album of the Year – Popular Success category with Pub Royal, the group’s final farewell following the passing of lead singer Karl Tremblay. We caught up with them in the media room, where they were joined by Pub Royal co-producer Daniel Lacoste. They tried to convince us that a reunion might be in the works… but we didn’t buy it.
Elisapie
Elisapie, who’s been gathering honours for the past two years at both the ADISQ Awards and the JUNOs, took home the Félix for Indigenous Artist of the Year for the third time – presented to her by none other than Florent Vollant (formerly of Kashtin), the Godfather of Indigenous music in Québec. We spoke with her about the state of that musical community, and ongoing advocacy with the CRTC to establish an Indigenous music quota on commercial radio.
