Here is the fourth and final instalment of our red-carpet interviews from the 2026 Gala SOCAN, held May 3 at TOHU in Montréal.

Claude Bégin et Lysandre Nadeau

As a member of Alaclair Ensemble and a creative partner of the late Karim Ouellet, Claude Bégin has been one of the main architects of Québec pop over the past 15 years. At this year’s Gala SOCAN, he received one of the Francophone Popular Song Awards for his duet with William Cloutier (J’veux pas qu’tu t’en ailles), a song he wrote with Cloutier and Benjamin Nadeau.

By his side was his partner Lysandre Nadeau, an influencer and now a singer… almost unwillingly! On that subject, she reveals her technique for overcoming nerves in the studio.

Ramon Chicharron

Delightfully festive, the musical universe world of this Montréal-based Colombian artist unfolds like a patchwork of Latin, Caribbean, and Québec rhythms. For his decidedly unifying approach, Ramon Chicharron received the Global Music Award at the 2026 Gala SOCAN.

Laurence Jalbert

The great Laurence Jalbert had the honour of presenting Marjo, her longtime friend, with the Cultural Impact Award for her hit Provocante. On the red carpet, the singer-songwriter wanted to pay tribute to her colleague.

JérémieCorriveau

Jérémie Corriveau’s success was, in a way, written in the stars. Born into a long line of musicians, this great-grandson of a conductor has carved out a place for himself through collaborations with filmmakers and series directors. He received the Breakthrough Screen Composer Award.

Fred Dionne

Fred Dionne’s lyrics leave no possible doubt about the fact that he loves a good road trip. Driven by a deep thirst for freedom, the singer-songwriter’s music also stands, in its own way, as a celebration of the land. He received the Country Music Award at the 2026 Gala SOCAN.
