One of SOCAN’s member benefits includes access to stay in a SOCAN House in the U.S. SOCAN Houses are located in Los Angeles and Nashville and are fully equipped to be perfect home bases for music creators. Members can apply to stay in a SOCAN house for up to seven nights.
SOCAN Houses can be used for:
- Local conferences, songwriting camps
- Showcases, festivals, and other performances
- Co-writing, studio sessions and other collaborations
- Career development and industry meetings
- Promotional opportunities (e.g., shooting content or media appearances)
Members are selected to stay at a SOCAN House from an application with a set criteria, not a first-come, first-serve basis.
A successful application to the SOCAN Houses includes the following:
- Your team (e.g. manager, publisher, label)
- Any industry events you’re attending, when, and purpose of the event
- Planned collaborations with names, locations, dates, and planned projects
- Any other planned professional activities (inclusive of promotion or performances)
- How these planned activities will result in immediate or future opportunities
We encourage SOCAN members to apply up to three months ahead of their selected timeframe. Due to the volume of applications, if you haven’t received a confirmation within a month of your requested stay, then you weren’t selected, but we encourage you to apply again.
