On Sept. 28, 2024, Diane Tell was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame at Toronto’s Massey Hall, alongside Sarah McLachlan, Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor of Blue Rodeo, and Tom Cochrane.
We met with Tell on the red carpet prior to the Gala, an emotional event for the artist. She enjoyed performances of some of her songs by a new generation of singer-songwriters, including La Zarra, Ariane Roy, and Dominique Fils-Aimé, all of whom also spoke to SOCAN about the influence that Tell has had on them, and on “la chanson québécoise.”
