      Here is the fourth and final instalment of our red-carpet interviews from the 2026 Gala SOCAN, held May 3 at TOHU in Montréal.

      Allie X earns SOCAN No. 1 Song Award for “7th Floor”

      Allie X earned a SOCAN No. 1 Song Award for reaching #1 on CBC’s Top 20 chart with “7th Floor” on Feb. 2, 2026. “7th Floor” was written by Allie X and George Pimentel and published by BMG.   Racquel Villegante, SOCAN’s Associate Director, Creative Executives, presented Allie X with the award in Los Angeles in April.   SOCAN congratulates Allie X on this great achievement! 

      Ten SOCAN screen composers win at 2026 Canadian Screen Awards

      The 14th annual Canadian Screen Awards (CSA) were presented to 10 SOCAN members between May 29 and May 31, 2026, in Toronto, for their work in screen composing or songwriting for the screen.  The 2026 winners are:  TELEVISION  Best Original Music, Animation Erica Procunier – Thomas & Friends: The Christmas Letter Express  Best Original Music, Drama  Peter Peter – Heated Rivalry  Best Original Music, Comedy Caleb Chan, ...
