Hailing from Gaspésie, Luan Larobina took home top honours at the final, held at Montréal’s Club Soda, presented in partnership with SOCAN.

Larobina says she grew up listening to Harmonium and the Buena Vista Social Club. Born to a Québécoise mother and an Argentine father, she blends the two cultures that define her into her music. Her sound has a jazzy, intimate feel while staying firmly rooted in the tradition of French chanson.

Irdens Exantus took second place, and also received a number of grants. He energized the room with his unique fusion of rap, R&B, and even touching on funk by the end of his set.

Fyore, who previously won the SOCAN award, took third place after a standout performance—particularly during a performance alongside Sadio Sissokho on the kora and Pape Ndiaye Tama on the tama. She also received the Andréanne-Sasseville Award, presented by SiriusXM as voted by the public.
