French magazine Les Inrocks has adopted them wholeheartedly, and British magazine MOJO rated their latest release, Feu de garde, four stars. To top that off, they’ve been invited to open for Blonde Redhead, Pomme, and November Ultra. In other words, things are going smoothly for Bibi Club, aka Adèle Trottier-Rivard and Nicolas Basque, a couple both in the studio and at home, as well as being parents. A few hours before their show at the Santa Teresa Festival on May 12, 2024, they released their latest creation, Feu de garde. It’s a sophomore album informed by the numerous acquaintances they’ve made over the last few years – as well as by the contribution of external perspectives, like those of Ali Chant (PJ Harvey, Aldous Harding, Dry Cleaning) on mixing, and Matt Colton (Depeche Mode, James Blake, Peter Gabriel) on mastering – the final and often decisive stages in the sonic outcome of an album. To summarize, Bibi Club knows how to keep their creative fire alive.
