SOCAN CEO Jenn Brown and Cameron Kennedy, SOCAN Vice President of Creative & Member Relations, have been featured on the prestigious Billboard Canada Power Players List for 2025, achieving the remarkable distinction of placing SOCAN at No. 1 on the list of organizations. Additionally, Charlie Wall-Andrews, Executive Director of the SOCAN Foundation, has earned a place on the Billboard Canada Power Players Foundations list. All were celebrated at the Power Players list reveal on June 11, 2025, at Illuminarium Toronto, in the city’s downtown Distillery district.
The Billboard Canada Power Players list celebrates those who drive the music industry forward from behind the scenes. These are the people shaping the future of music, alongside its creators. SOCAN is pleased and proud to see our executives recognized on such a high-profile stage, demonstrating the value of their hard work, leadership, and contributions.

Brown’s inclusion on Billboard Canada’s Women in Music Executive list, in March of 2025, testifies to SOCAN’s ongoing influence in the industry.
This year also marks a special milestone as SOCAN teamed up with Billboard Canada to introduce the Billboard Screen Composer of the Year Award. Five SOCAN members were nominated, and Mark Korven took home the honour. The award is designed to shine a spotlight on composers whose work impacts audiences globally, crafting soundtracks for the most popular TV shows and movies.
Our ongoing partnership with Billboard demonstrates the work SOCAN is doing to connect with the international music industry, while supporting and elevating our members.
