As the winner of the Screen Composer of the Year Award at the 2018 SOCAN Montréal Awards, Jean-Olivier Bégin is the composer who most stood out in 2017. He constantly wows everyone with his capacity to work on a wide variety of projects, always with outstanding quality. In the fall of 2017, he won a Gémeaux Award for the Best Original Music, for the documentary Contes du Centre-Sud. His impressive list of projects also includes music for TV productions such as Ici Urbania, Sexplora, Police Académie, and many more for Radio-Canada, TVA, Canal D and Historia. In our video interview, he discusses his creative process, and the qualities required to succeed in the unsung trade of screen composing.
