This comprehensive, 43-hour course runs for 11 weeks, from Jan. 16 to Mar. 19, 2024, and covers legal basics, contracts and licenses, the organization and artistic direction of a publishing house, and many other essential subjects. These subjects will be covered in-depth by publishing experts such as Daniel Lafrance, Claude Brunet, David Murphy, Valérie Gauthier, Marie-Laurence Asselin, and Carmel Scurti-Belley.

Note that the winter session of the APEM training program will be available online only, via Zoom. Registration is now open, but spaces are limited. For details, and to register, access apem.ca/en/music-publishing-training-program-2.

The APEM training program is made possible thanks to the financial support of the Québec government, Musicaction, the SOCAN Foundation, and SODEC.

Welcome to the second part of the numerous interviews we conducted backstage at the 2023 ADISQ Gala and Premier Gala.

Pierre Kwenders’ album José Louis and the Paradox of Love won the prestigious Polaris Music Prize in 2022. This obviously paved the way for his victory at the Premier Gala de l’ADISQ in the Album of the Year – World Music category. But for Kwenders, this double achievement acts more as a creative stimulus than a reason to believe that he can now rest. Here’s our on-the-spot interview at the Premier Gala.
